Dr. Atif Ansar

Chair

Dr Atif Ansar is a Lecturer at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford and an Associate Fellow of the Saïd Business School. His research focuses on delivering major infrastructure and integrated real estate programmes cheaper, faster, and with greater sensitivity to the needs of end-users.

Prior to joining the Blavatnik School of Government, Atif was a Research Fellow at the BT Centre for Major Programme Management at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. Building on this experience he continues to conduct collaborative research on infrastructure megaprojects with Professor Bent Flyvbjerg and colleagues at Saïd Business School.

Atif teaches on the Master in Public Policy (MPP), the Masters in Business Administration (MBA), and the MSc in Major Programme Management and helps deliver executive education programmes such as the UK Government’s Major Projects Leadership Academy (MPLA) for top civil servants.

Atif has widely consulted for the World Bank and private sector clients. At the World Bank, Atif’s work focused on infrastructure and social development. His work for the private sector has been in the area of project finance in Russia, Ukraine, and Africa and improving decision practice and outcomes of capital investment projects.

Atif completed his DPhil entitled: ‘New Departures’ in Infrastructure Provision: an Ongoing Evolution Away from Physical Assets to User Needs in 2010. Studying at Brasenose College, Oxford University, he received the Clarendon Scholarship from the Oxford University Press for his doctorate. Atif previously undertook his Bachelor’s degree at the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University where he majored in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics.


Anurag Aggarwal

President

Anurag Aggarwal is a final year undergraduate reading Economics and Management at Merton College. Over the Summer, he worked in the Financial Sponsors team at Morgan Stanley and will be joining the Corporate Private Equity division of The Blackstone Group as a full-time analyst in Summer 2014.  In the past, he has completed internships at Sapien Capital and Tata Capital, specialising in cross-border corporate finance. Anurag is also a keen-rower and was Boat Club Captain at Merton College last year.

Ewan Blackledge

Treasurer

Ewan Blackledge is an undergraduate student of Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of Oxford. He is the founder and current President of Oxford Leadership Society, a society promoting leadership and leadership skills among Oxford University students. He has also been Treasurer of CapitOx, the University’s premier finance and consulting society. Ewan has completed internships at PwC, Ernst & Young and RBS. In June 2013 he completed a summer analyst role at Morgan Stanley. In spare time Ewan mentors students interested in finance, and he does some voluntary work for Education Partnerships Africa, a charity for which he manages NGO Partnerships.


Alistair Macaulay

Alistair Macaulay is an undergraduate student of Economics and Management at Merton College. Alongside his work with Oxford Roundtables, he sits on the organising committee of the Oxford Guild Business Society, the University’s oldest and largest business society. Alistair is also Vice-President of the Neave Politics Society at his college, and in his spare time he sails for the University.
